Through our programs, SFILY students are equipped with opportunities to grow, work with other aspiring leaders, and positively contribute to their communities.


Leadership Programs

The SFILY Summer Leadership Program is an opportunity for students to gain the skills and confidence to grow as leaders by participating in identity, social-emotional, and public speaking learning.

June 6th, 2022 – June 10th, 2022

The SFILY Spring Leadership Program is a 6-week long program at Glen Park. Students will gain the skills and confidence to participate in learning about civic issues and social emotional learning. Students will also get the chance to learn how to articulate their identity, experiences, and opinions in front of an audience and meet mentors who will support them in the process.

Civics Program

The SFILY Fall Leadership Program is a 8 week long program for 7th and 8th grade students to practice public speaking and learn about civic issues. Our education is locally-based, as SFILY students primarily learn about San Francisco leadership and movements. Students meet once a week and explore various topics such as social justice, public speaking, and practice presenting to their peers. This program is a transformational leadership opportunity.

Leadership Camp

The SFILY Summer Leadership Program is a 1-week virtual program that features social justice presentations, discussions, and team activities. Students hear from guest speakers ranging from San Francisco government officials, to community organizations, to activist groups. Through a youth panel, students also learn from high school students and their leadership experiences. Our education is locally-based, as SFILY students primarily learn about San Francisco leadership and movements.

Session 1 : June 14, 2021 – June 18th, 2021

Session 2: July 26th, 2021 – July 30th, 2021

Taking this education into action, SFILY students learn what meaningful leadership looks like, practice advocacy, critical thinking, and plan the impact they would like to make in their communities.
