Through our programs, SFILY students are equipped with opportunities to grow, work with other aspiring leaders, and positively contribute to their communities.
Winter Social-Emotional Leadership Program
The SFILY Winter Social-Emotional Leadership Program is an 6-week long program at Lick-Wilmerding High School. Students will gain the skills and confidence to participate in social emotional learning. Students will get the chance to learn how to articulate their identity and experiences in front of an audience and meet mentors who will support them in the process.

Fall Civics and Public Speaking Program
The SFILY Fall Civics Program is a 8 week long program for 7th and 8th grade students to practice public speaking and learn about civic issues. Our education is locally-based, as SFILY students primarily learn about San Francisco leadership and movements. Students meet once a week and explore various topics such as social justice, public speaking, and practice presenting to their peers. This program is a transformational leadership opportunity.

Summer Leadership Camp
The SFILY Summer Leadership Camp is a 1-week virtual camp that features social justice presentations, discussions, and team activities. Students hear from guest speakers ranging from San Francisco government officials, to community organizations, to activist groups. Through a youth panel, students also learn from high school students and their leadership experiences. Our education is locally-based, as SFILY students primarily learn about San Francisco leadership and movements.
Session 1 : June 14, 2021 – June 18th, 2021
Session 2: July 26th, 2021 – July 30th, 2021
Taking this education into action, SFILY students learn what meaningful leadership looks like, practice advocacy, critical thinking, and plan the impact they would like to make in their communities.
